Tom Petty keyboardist Benmont Tench playing four solo shows in California this week

This past March, founding Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench played a handful of solo shows in the New York City area.  Now the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer is set to perform a series of intimate concerts this week in Northern California.

Tench has a run of four dates, scheduled for Wednesday in San Rafael, Thursday in San Francisco, Friday in Big Sur, and Sunday in Santa Cruz.

Benmont also will perform at the 2019 Newport Folk Festival on Friday, July 26 at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, Rhode Island. The fest runs from the 26th through Sunday, July 28.

Tench also made an appearance at Ringo Starr‘s “Peace and Love” 79th birthday gathering on Sunday, July 7, in front of the Capitol Records Tower in Los Angeles. Other celebs who joined the former Beatles drummer at the celebration included Edgar Winter, Nils Lofgren, Jim Keltner, Don Was, actor Ed Begley Jr., comic Richard Lewis, and film directors David Lynch and Peter Jackson.
