Journey's Jonathan Cain releases solo holiday concert video, 'Unsung Noel,' exclusively via Amazon Prime

Credit: Sheila WithumJourney keyboardist Jonathan Cain has released a concert video documenting a December 2017 show he played in support of his Unsung Noel holiday album, exclusively through Amazon Prime Video.

Unsung Noel with Jonathan Cain, which is available now to buy or rent, features the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer performing selections from the album, along with some popular holiday tunes, accompanied by a full band, choir and string section.

The concert was held in Apopka, Florida, at New Destiny Christian Center, where Cain regularly leads weekend worship gatherings with his wife, Paula White-Cain, who’s the congregation’s senior pastor.

Among the songs performed at the show were Pastor. Featuring originals such as Unsung Noel‘s title track and “This Is the Heart of Christmas,” and yuletide classics like “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “Oh Holy Night” and “Do You Hear What I Hear.”

“I wanted to present a concert that really celebrates the Nativity; the birth of Christ and the coming of Christ along with songs that tell parts of the story that I think are missing in today’s seasonal catalog,” Cain explains of the show.

Jonathan also recently released a new Christmas song called “Wonder of Wonders, a duet with Michael Tait of the popular Christian-rock act The Newsboys. An official video for the tune recently premiered on Cain’s YouTube channel. The clip features footage of Jonathan singing and playing piano while accompanied by a female string quartet on stage at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where Journey has been playing a series of residencies. The video also includes footage of Tait performing separately in Macon, Georgia.

Journey has four upcoming 2019 concerts at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, on December 27, 28, 30 and 31.
