Tim Mosenfelder/Getty ImagesWe haven’t heard much from Billy Squier in a while, but the veteran rocker will be returning to the stage this month to play a trio of special concerts in and around New York City.
The shows, which are part of the Portraits series, will feature Squier chatting and collaborating with acclaimed touring and session guitarist G.E. Smith.
The events are scheduled for this Saturday, January 6, at the Suffolk Theater in Riverhead, New York; Tuesday, January 9, at the City Winery in New York City; and Thursday, January 18, at the Ridgefield Playhouse in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
Squier is, of course, best-known for such early-’80s hits as “The Stroke,” “Rock Me Tonite” and “Everybody Wants You.” He hasn’t released a studio album since 1998’s Happy Blue.
Smith was a longtime music director Saturday Night Live and the former lead guitarist for Daryl Hall & John Oates. He also has been a member Bob Dylan‘s and Roger Waters‘ touring bands.
