Join Sonoma Ecology staff on this approximately 2-mile fire recovery hike. Starting at the main parking lot, we’ll head up the continual incline of Lower Bald Mt Trail, twice burned in the last 6 years. We will be assessing the burned vegetation of chaparral & oak woodland, learning how to interpret fire-affected landscapes & discussing why it happened & how to prepare for it happening again. We return down a rough, paved, continually descending road.
Tickets: $10-$15 sliding scale for general audiences & free for children under 12.
Meet at the White Barn parking lot, ½ past the entrance kiosk. Wear sturdy
footwear & sun protection, bring at least a quart of water & if desired, a snack.
Trekking poles recommended, if you use them. Parking fees apply.
